I have been training for my South African PPL (H) for the past 8 weeks but due to an emergency back at home i will be unable to complete my training. I have a total of 45 hours logged and meet the JAR requirements for the breakdown of training hours. However having checked Lasors only 10 of my 60 hours will be counted towards a UK PPL (H). However the next paragraph states that "in exceptional circumstances" all overseas non JAR hours may be considered. Can anyone advise how to move forward with this and what these "exceptional circumstances" may be?. I have all my flight training notes together with log book and a lengthy letter from my flight school in south africa.

Contact Martin Marsh at the CAA and he will advise.

Thanks man from uncle. Is Martin based at the office in Holborn? The switchboard there is an nightmare, if you have a direct dial that would be great.
