There's a big thread on the Airmech site with a load of salaries on it.

FWIW, as a permanent employee I was clearing £2,600 basic or about £3000 with a day or so O/T.

As stated elsewhere - as a contractor I collect between £5,500 - £7,500 per month depending on how many work days I do (that's with a couple of days of per week). Obviously tax, NI etc is still to come out of that (maybe!).

I know one contractor pilot too and he regularly does 12 1/2 grand though per month he reckons.

$5458.00 US dollars a month pre tax for a 38 year old Senior A&P mechanic with 20 years experience. That # includes full coverage health and dental insurance that costs me nothing, a 401k retirement fund with employer matching funds, profit sharing, uniforms, 3 weeks paid vacation a year, 2 weeks paid sick time a year, paid factory maintenance training (so far Bell 407, MD, and most recently Enstrom). I also have a company supplied season ticket in the mid level of the Super dome for the New Orleans Saints NFL football team which isn't cheap.

I am compensated for any overtime at 1.5 times my normal rate per hour. Some months we can pull a 3-10 hours of O.T. a week, some months not so much.

I do not receive any housing or travel allowances, because I live within 20 minutes of work. If I do incur any travel or work related expenses I either have access to a company credit card or am quickly reimbursed for any of my own out of pocket expenses.

I live in south Louisiana, USA near New Orleans and have been with my current employer 9 years now after leaving Petroleum Helicopters Inc. after 5 years. Its a small charter company, with most of our business in the offshore oil and gas industry, but has grown quite a bit since I have been there and see no reason to leave anytime soon.
