just came back from Houston after a crash course in flying a shuttle.
Since Doha is an alternate for it I might get a chance to fly it out of standby.
NASA is short of astronauts too.

I think the first concern of the people here is not to known if they gone be Dual-rated(320-330)or not...but rather to known how much money they gone loose everyday here due to the crash of the qatari riyal and the inflation(consequence of the first one), and to think if it´s really worth to stay here or going back home..?:uhoh:

Its already decided A330 capt some of them will fly A320 most of ones which where already rated 320 before .
Non of A320 guys will fly 330 .

No salary is same there is no pay cut . You have salary in Q rials so who care about US $ anyhow airline make you spend it all in Qatar . Housing is 16000 Q R ,........ it all stay in Qatar .

Its funny to see how this dual type rating things keeps popping its head up from time to time....

As far as I am concerned, its part of the famous carrot strategy of QR. They will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to make you reconsider a possible resignation for a couple of months longer.

Just like the upgrades, the B777 transfers, the provident fund, the bidding system, etc.....

A320 is suffereing at the moment, A330 capt OK but they will need them all when the 777s start coming..

Very interested to see how they will be able to resolve the current situation this time....

By the way....what is happening on the A300 fleet? Who will be the poor guys being stuck forever on the jurassic parc airplanes? The political games going on there must be really interesting to watch!

Its ok CEO is involving interpol regarding PPRUNE so no time to deal with pay rise or pilot shortage .
He will hire anyone . We can see it, training standards are so low this days becouse QR is happy to get anyone who try for EK or Etihad and fail there.
Good soon QR will have to have special roster which will restrict one who cant fly to fly with one who cant fly to reduce crash possibility .
Safety office people are only one who will get salary increament .
Its all just crap as long as AAB terminator is around .
If a Qatari pilots has good plan to get rid of this dildo we could be saved

Now i see...:)actually it´s a new method to ""force"" people to stay here by making them sign a new bond(CCQ Course=2 years bond or 15000U$) as they probably expect a lot of people to leave due to the financial situation and other problem:Qatar has become the number one in the gulf for the Highest increase in cost of live and inflation,they are even beating Dubai ...at least on one thing........:uhoh:

Well for the time Being The CEO has other priorities, he is trying to save his a.. Indeed the "qatarisation" of the company is going on...qatari second officer are recruiting straight to the 330, Qatari who have been terminated are called back without loosing seniority, we can now see qatari Figures in the new fleet management....Don´t worry when we will have a lot of Locals working here, than for sure the CEO will have to improve the conditions of his employers, .......!!:\
