I have been asked to take a Kingair into RAF Lossie' on a private flight, I wasnt aware that it was possible to go in there under normal circumstances. Anybody done it? Apart from the extra aircraft insurance is there anything else I need to know about/plan for? Who do I speak to to ask permission?

Use of MoD airfeilds is very much up to the individual base. The correct official way to do it is to submit a request to MoD wider markets at RAF High Wycombe. The Contact is Mrs Diane Fane on 01494 494191. You fill in some forms and she sends them to the base to see if they will let you in. The difficulty can be in the security of you going around the base to get off and on again. Someone will have to escort you and thr RAF police are refusing to do it.

Some RAF bases do let you in if you just phone them up.

Good luck but inverness is not too far down the road.

Agree with the above - all the best with it but you may struggle. We operate into several RAF bases, including Marham and Conningsby but Lossie won't even allow us to use them as an alternate if we can't get into Inverness, and we are INV based.
Suppose if the person you are taking can exert any influence though......!

Let us know how you get on!
