I happened to notice this obituary (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/obituaries/article3432757.ece) in The Times Online. From the photo it seems that Pearl Witherington was at one time a member of the WAAF before moving on to her other wartime exploits.
And what exploits they were. May she rest in peace.
