Anyone know where to get a finger torch from, ala the ones in the NVG boxes, wouldnt mind having my own as opposed to relying on them being in the box.

Try your flying clothing store, that's where I got mine.

Alternatively I think Silvermans sell them too.

Just the job that ExRigger .... an ultra bright LED finger torch on NVG's. Should get a cracking picture on Gogs.

They are 'C' class stores, ask your Squippers very nicely if they would demand you one. Needs after flighting though.:}

Like most lights and torches, the official finger torches are too bright at night. Why are lights designed in daylight?
Although questionable, I made my own mini finger torches using micro blue LED (Wavelength <590nM) which were just about invisible to NVG. They were Apis Mellifera's Patellas!

I also made a small self illuminating panel - once again emitting short wave light. This was for map reading. Perfect for the job.

(Maps - patterned paper things we used to use before GPS became common)

The power supply I made for th items was safer, with more protection, than the standard issue.

I guess that none of you would get away with it now. Suffer the standard item and catch it on the wrong switch when operating items on the overhead panel.
