I used to enjoy some periods of leave far more than others.

Leave is dead and buried. It's called authorised absence now dear chap.

I prefer those periods of "authorised absence" when I'm abroad, rather than just going to work in civvies.

Leave is leave. All leave is good leave - no such thing as varying standard just varying quantity!

Rethink - terminal leave best of all. Ok I conceed the argument!

"Leave is a privilege not a right" my first boss used to say.

'Authorised absence' on the other hand, well thats something completely different.

'Enjoy yer Leave Nobby'? 'Yeah, great time'.

'Enjoy yer Authorised Absence Nobby'? 'Whasssaaaat'?

Nope, don't sound right!
