Just had a stress ecg as my BP was marginal at my last medical145/80, pulse rate 58 , ecg normal sinus with no problems. No personal history of high BP but my dear old mum has high BP(84 years).

Under stress(well named) my heart had normal respone to exercise but my BP rose to 210/90 so cardiologists here I come.

I am aged 54 and up to now had a clean class 1 for over 30 years.

What can I expect as treatment/reponse from the CAA. Non smoker, moderate alcohol and height/weight normal.

Stressed ATPL holder

PS at medical doc said BP was ok for now, I insisted on a follow up.

Hypertension alone is unlikely to be an issue.

I'm a little unsure as to why an exercise ecg was performed in your case?

Isn't bp supposed to go up during stress, exercise etc? I thought that was the whole point - flight or flight reaction and all that? Or am I remembering things I learned too long ago to remember them properly?

GP sent me for the stress ECG as all class 1 medical holders have to see a cardiologist before and after taking medication for blood pressure, he said the CAA would want the stress ECG and they had a free slot. Seeing cardiologist next week.

Will see what they all say.

Thanks:)
