This is interesting, any ideas about who will take early advantage of this deal and how it will effect the current operations of PIA for instance.

PIA has recently expressed an interest in launching services to the UK from Sialkhot (the interview with a PIA official mentioned a service to MAN). Presumably this can now proceed at PIA's convenience.

Understand that amongst the airlines approved to start operating into Pakistan include bmi, Virgin and Astraeus and that BA can increase their frequency

Although announced before the UK-Pakistan open skies deal, this Thursday sees the first Shaheen flight from Islamabad to Leeds Bradford.
