If you are out the country for 6 months you apparently dont pay tax in the uk. Well i'm cabin crew and was away with work and holidays over 6 months in 2007 can i claim more tax on my salary back? if so how do i do it?

You will have to do a non-resident's self assessment and will need to prove how many days you were away from the country. I was living in Houston while commuting on a part time BA contract and this is what I had to do. I didn't get much tax back because BA were already taking this into account. You will probably need to check with your airline as well. If they've been over taxing you AND you can prove you were away (rosters, boarding passes, etc) then you may get a decent refund.

In order to comply with the UK tax regulations to not pay tax in the UK, I think you have to pay tax where you are based overseas. In some cases it can be cheaper to pay UK tax, unless you are working in a more tax friendly state. Probably worth a quick chat to an accountant who specialises in this.
