Chelsea baracks sold for four times the estimate (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7221287.stm).

An MoD spokesperson said: "Proceeds from the sale of the barracks are ring-fenced for investment in accommodation in recognition of the priority that the MoD places on rectifying decades of neglect."

Or Will Mr Darling keep all the proceeds for his black hole?

The historic Chelsea Barracks have been sold for £959m

It was valued at by the Government's National Asset Register at £58.3m

Are they spectactularly stupid or just criminally neglectful?

Now the mod have 959million to spend on upgrades you can bet that those tending for contracts will add another nought on their quotes, and with this money burning a hole in their pockets they will be daft enough to pay over the odds.

If you seriously think that the MoD will see that money and not the treasury then you need to take yourself outside for a slap ;)

I wouldn't trust Brown with a penny of it :ugh:
I challenge him to spend every single penny on the armed forces! Next year.

If the money is already "ring-fenced for investment in accommodation" then a simple FOI act request should confirm where it is being spent....
