I'm trying to figure out how much does the EC-155 in VIP configurations weighs, approximately off course, anyone operate this helicotper that might have this info?

Other than the 6 seat VIP interior with steps, and a small galley, we don't require much more.

Avionics wise, AP, FD, TAS, MFD, WX Radar, no FMS.

"....and a small galley....?"

Have you ever been in the back of one of those?

I guess this will be similar to the answer to "How long is a piece of string?"

I have only seen a few VIP 155's around Asia, but they vary from the basic VIP from the factory to a VIP with a throne fitted mid cabin. As in a regal throne. Seriously impressive, but only the designer knows its mass.

I suggest a call to Eurocopter. They may not give you a direct answer but they may give you enough information to be able to work it out for yourself.

4920 kg Max AUW

4950 kg max weight for taxiing

Worked with EC-155B1 in a past life, had a minor hand in locating and bringing in over G-NIVA (formerly N84AZ) then doing my part in part of the long winded process to certify the beauty on CAA reg.

I have seen the fruits of our labor when it left the hangar and then 2 years later on at Helitech:)

FD ? 155s don't have Flight Directors...

The ones I've flown (inclduing G-NIVA) were around 3400 kg with two pilots. A particular significance of this mass is that it is about the same as the RTOM for training for the Cat A helipad procedure, so no training possible in the aircraft!

Ec155B1 is best suited for a executive or VIP role considering its sleek aerodynamics with high cruise speed 145 but most of the time you will be cruising at 150 kts.

The dry operating mass (includes two pilots weight 85+85=170 kg)would be 3200 kg depending on the seating configuration. And this includes the extra weight of airconditioning.

MTOW is 4920 kg at SL.

Now you can play with the no of pax or pay load and fuel to go place to place.

Over all a complete upgradation from the experience of making of dauphin(AS 365 fleet which include N/N2/N3) and with FLI concept in the cockpit to ease the pilot work load.GPS or FMS can be interface with flight navigation systems and its a luxury in flying from a Heli pilot point of view. hope this help buddy.
