Hey does anyone know anything about The Rulers villa's in Al Bada? Are they the ones that current new hires are being shown during tour? Thanks

Yes, the show house is one of them. Been some of a crime wave of sorts lately at those villas, lots of local kids( don't know what nationalities) nicking kids bikes etc....
Most like it there, except for that and the nearness to Satwa.

It's named Al-Bada'a for a reason... it means what it sounds like. Good location, mediocre digs...

... and in spite a what troff says later in this thread, Al-Bada'a is not in Jumeirah 1... it's across tha street from Jumeirah 1, the line separatin' the area is formed by Al-Wasl Road.

Having lived there i speak from experience, not that nice a place to live. I said it's either a change of villa or a change of job, got silicon. The BH villas are very dark inside.

Local kids nicking bikes, throwing bottles into the garden, people driving like idiots (locals).

Glad I moved out.

I'm in a "F" Villa in Al-Bada'a and love it. Great location, quite and no problems yet. Use common sense and leave garage door closed and the front gate locked.

Technically the complex is in Jumeriah 1, although the position of the signs lead you to believe otherwise. We are in a unit without a garage door, but in our previous life we didn't have a garage! No problems in the years we have been here. One wide street is used as a throughfare to get around heavy traffic at a large intersection close by. One street looks out over a 24 hour gas station (handy for catching a taxi) which can be noisy. Our street is very quiet. The complex is centrally located close to our kids' school and wife's job so driving, which seems to be the big complaint in DXB, is minimized. It works for us. The Silicone Oasis "Stepford Wives in the Desert" scene is not our preferred situation, but S.O. is a great environment if you have younger kids. We like this diverse (not all EK) neighbourhood. Shopping, the beach, SZR, theatres, MMI, restaurants with alcoholic bevvies, the EK clinic (for now), everything you really need is close by.
Puff mentioned that his villa was very dark but ours faces south west and on the west "half" of the half double so very bright. I can see how a villa in the other quadrant could be considered gloomy, but much cooler in summer.
Hope this helps in your decision.

ANFA, F group is a great place to be, just make sure they don't try and put you on Satwa Road or 42nd street. There are some open villas between F-1 and F-7 that are on a main bus stop. EK will put guys in there, then EK gets complaints, the guys get to move, then EK will try it again with some new suckers. If they try and put you in one of these villas, say NO early.

Cheers troff, but the reason our old villas were so dark was because of the lack of windows. Didn't matter which way they faced all of them were dark in the lounge and kitchen due lack of natural light. More so the end ones because the garage covered the kitchen.

Anyway, out of there now thank christ!

Does anyone have their ear to the ground about the Emirates signing on to a new villa development in Mirdiff?
