Reports l'm hearing is that an AVEC MA6O belonging to Air Zimabwe experienced a significant tailstrike on landing into the city of Bulawayo (FVBU). Despite the tail strike the crew then elected to continue flying the balance of their assigned duties for the day. The aircraft however required extensive repairs and its return to operational use remains unclear.

Apparently the capatain was not the FP but rather the first officer who had recently returned from leave. The Captain is said to be fairly inexperienced having recently moved from the right to left hand seat after a relatively short period as first officer. Reports claim the crew attempted to land with flap 15 and not the required flap 30 as per the airlines SOPs. The crew have since faced disciplinary action.

Does anyone know more?:}:}
