MAN

SAS currently handle airblue and libyan airlines

Menzies handle central wings

Servisair handle European

No idea about Estonian Air, not heard of them at MAN. I think SAS is withdrawing from MAN (handling agent) so not sure who/what will happen to the airlines above, they also handle KLM. Please correct anything if wrong.

GLA: Aviance also handle Air Contractors (FedEx). GLA-STN-DUB & GLA-MAN-CDG (ATR72s).

BHX: Aviance have also handled the odd Air Mediterranee ad hoc (corporate) charter (A321) at T2. FedEx do self-handling (ATR72).

Cheers

groundhogbhx

BHX Swissport still handle MYT, well for another few weeks any. Air Contractors are handled by Servisair when working for Fedex and Swissport when not (very confusing).

TCX69
3rd Feb 2008, 22:14
BHX Swissport still handle MYT, well for another few weeks any.

That must be fun when MYT A320 operate the TCX MIR!!
So today are we Aviance or Swissport?

groundhogbhx
4th Feb 2008, 08:42
The MYT 320 doesn't operate to MIR at the moment for MYT or TCX, although it does seem to fly at bit more often than the FCA 757. And the split in work is pretty straight forward, MYT flight number handled by Swissport and TCX by Aviance no matter who's a/c it is.

TCX69
4th Feb 2008, 10:22
Oh it's just that the TCX745K/L is sched to operate on an A320 from the 10th Feb and as TCX no longer have any A320's I take it it will be a MYT one.

(1st post here but have been reading the forums for weeks n weeks so ... hi all :)! )

I hear down probably not the strongest of grape vines that Aviance may also handle Swiss Air at some point as part of the star alliance since Lufthansa is also handled by them. Who knows... would be a slight boot in the chops for Swissport to lose the name sake airline though :}

It's a long time since Swissport has been related to any airline, the collapse of Swissair following 9/11 to be precise. IF we lose Swiss then it will be a sad day, but certainly no worse than losing FCA, who were the airline that brought us in to BHX eight years ago.

I just hope that the commercial person is pulling their finger out and securing some new contracts for us, and not relying on worldwide deals from the parent company.

RollNow!
4th Feb 2008, 12:32
Well its only the rumor mill mate. Probably based on nothing more than the fact their part of SA n seemingly tend to follow each other round at various stations. Educated guess work as opposed to anything concrete. I was quite surprised about FCA i must say.

There are also things flying about (excuse the terrible pun) about PIA and AirIndia as well.

groundhogbhx
4th Feb 2008, 17:47
Last I was told was Air India had been asking round but where stopping where they are, PIA are always talking about moving. They certainly won't get better service if they move so probably just trying to reduce the price!!

RollNow!
4th Feb 2008, 21:05
Sounds about right i heard Air India were poking around Aviance , probably something to do with the london contracts with them. Doubt they will move though.

Swissport now handle VS as of Dec 10th 2007, also will take over AF and KLM from Aviance and SAS (announced today, start date unknown), due to them both choosing to go with one handler, DL may follow over (i hope so). Swissport only handle Emirates on the pax services side at the moment, but full handling will commence once Ringway decide what they are doing!

Haven't been keeping up with the news from MAN recently... but its seems as though things aren't going too well for aviance with the loss of VS VG, GB airways (and AF soon) all fairly recently.

It seems strange as aviance seem to be doing well at most other stations...

Have they picked up any more contracts or have they had to downsize at MAN?

bazzab68
8th Feb 2008, 19:05
I beleive Aviance is the only handling agent in Southampton and thus handle everything.

Barry

TCX G-FCLH
8th Feb 2008, 19:08
With this loss of AF, it only leaves them with BA, GB (for now - not heard any different on EZY contract), SN, BGN, and DL (altought this may become Swissport)

Mark

jerboy
8th Feb 2008, 19:17
Do we think the EZY(GB) contract will stay with aviance, or perhaps go to another agent? If not they will be left with only three (four if they're lucky) airlines and although BA is a fairly big contract will this warrant them keeping a base open at MAN?

Alan Tracey
8th Feb 2008, 22:31
I would of thought that BA + BMi are two of the biggest carriers at the airport. So in movement terms (and revenue) making Aviance one of the biggest agents ????

I will keep informed.

Gerry Alba

Alba are not buying any other ground handling company out.:=

As far as other ground handling companies go,some will wind down ,as we are seeing at GLA, but other handling companies will take that business on ( probably at an even cheaper rate to stop others getting it).

I must say Alba are not interested in that approach.
Alba will expand its business and the rumour`s will continue.
We have a great relationship with Flyglobespan and Virgin Atlantic Airways
and will grow at both GLA & EDI.

It was announced today that Servisair Inverness have lost their contract with Flybe to Dalcross Handling. That's about two thirds of their operational workload gone to DalX. Therefore it looks like about two thirds of their workforce are off too.

Slight changes at MAN.
Menzies have taken the Jet2 Contract.
Flight Support fully handle Sky Airlines, however the 'Airfranced/VLM/CityJet' fokker 50's have gone over to Swissport as of the 3rd of June.
Guess with it basicly being an AF flight's to ANR.

Evening all!

Changes at Inverness and bristol as well all. Most recently that easyJet have gone from servisair to Dalcross Handling. Seems that Dalcross have a big presscence up in Inverness now.

And updates in bristol as well. Menzies now handle:

easyJet
Aurigny
Aer Lingus
and Viking Airlines. :ugh:

Servisair everything else. For now! :}
