Heard a persistent rumour that Cargolion might be starting from Oostende with DC8's and/or DC10 on an African AOC.

I hear that the UK authorities - pretty much all of them, from Inland Revenue (who are keen to see why people have not been paying their taxes) through to Immigration (who are keen to see why people keep disappearing off GenDecs) and Customs & Excise (who apparently are interested in their VAT reclaimation history) to the DTLR (who are keen to see them leave the UK, full stop) - are looking deeply into their affairs.
And not before time, either!
I also hear that the Ghana CAA is in deep trouble, with many questions being asked at government level about their lack of oversight and regulation. The Americans are probably going to give them Category 2 status unless they clean house and dump all of the 'flag of convenience' operations - which of course will deprive said GCAA people of handy additional incomes as it seems that they (or close relatives) own or control many of the AOCs being used!
