Who has the pleasure to fly this big baby?. .what does it do lately?. .where is it based?.
It did a flight out of Munich recently to Kabul, via half a dozen tech-stops. 185T off relief goods if memory serves me.
Edit: now I'm not so sure if it was MUC. Somehow think Stuttgart (STR) was the point of origin... .Can anyone confirm?

185T (fast-food) was from STR to some air base in Oman, not Kabul

Tell me, do you really believe that the second 225 is being refitted after being canibalized for so many yrs in Gostomel?
Is it so true that the commercial team is getting that many charter inquiries as quoted in the aviation press or is that a marketing technique?

we've just offered a charter for two round trips from sweden to brazil - each 201 tons - based on an-225 - will see what happens......

What's for second 225 - I really doubt if it happens. Ref your second question - I wonder whether you really know who I'am or not... At least I'm not at HLA/Foile/ADB outfit to answer your question. I can only guess that this bird is not very popular due to pricing.

For the record, the AN-225s first commercial flight was 3 Jan from Stuttgart - Oman. The second on 5 Jan was between Munich and Bishkek.

Al Capone,. .Nope, you are wrong. I'm in airline, however acting as broker sometimes for subchartering <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> . .Never attended BACA lunches but there are some chances that we met somewhere else.

Hard to say at the moment. Let's wait when it completes some 50 charters then we can see what are the real costs. I guess it is around 160-180% of An-124 ACMI rate.

An ACMI rate doesn't really work with this aircraft. I can't see a major carrier using flt numbers of their own on an AN225. I would guess that an all-in rate per hour to be around $ 25-30,000. If you really want an ACMI rate, I would guess circa $15,000/bhr But again, I don't work for them so why don't you give them a call?

If you know ACMI you can find other costs. Add 1/3 MTOW, 30% fuel burn to AN124 and that's it. I guess 25-27k all in per hour is the right figure.
Anyway I'm not interested in this bird. Just another huge (but real) aircraft with uncertain commercial future.

there is no second 225 yet. .theres only the one, that was lying in GML for a long time. .its now gone back for further mods. .i flew on it from MCT - MUC , not a great difference from the 124 actually
