Can anyone help at the 11th hour? I need the recipe for a wicked drink that I had at last years Mess Burns night. I cannot even remember the name of it (told you it was good!!) but I think it was Oats soaked in whiskey, with cream and possibly honey.

I have just been asked for some help and guidance for a party arranged for tomorrow night – if this goes well I may even receive an invitation!! :ok:

Cheers MM

I think you'd have better luck with a quick response in Jet Blast....

Are you sure it was a drink rather than a dessert? If it was the latter it could be cranachan (http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/cranachanrecipe.htm)?

There are a variety of drinks as described, "Skye Mist;" a slightly thicker version called "Cranachan" often served with raspberries. Google with those names might help. Top tip: use very fine oatmeal rather than porridge oats; if you can't get very fine use medium and give it a blitz in a coffee grinder. Don't go OTT with whisky, yeah yeah I know but it'll probably be a long night so pace yourselves. Not like the Australian exchange officer's wife at Kinloss (many moons ago) who did a face plant in the cockaleekie soup at the start of the dinner.
