Right,. . They've got 2 converted ex BA 742s. TF-ATX & ATZ. Both 30 pallet staggered maindeck, Ancra/Aero Union handling systems. They don't have any Loadmasters.. . Anyone know if they're looking?

Methinks 411A never got invited back after the first contract. Wound up someone once too often maybe?

Actually Whiskery, did three summer contracts with AAI, and that was enough.. .Was not terribly impressed with their maintenance, or rather lack thereof...oddly, neither was the UKCAA.

That's funny 411A because I have been with AAI since 1998 and never had a major problem with maintenance. Don't recall UKCAA having a problem either. That week-end back in October '98 when they shut us down, at the end of the audit they couldn't find a problem.

Well Whiskery, I found out about the impending audit in August of that year, and mentioned same to the maintenance director...but was told to mind my own business.. .With AAI...it appears that..."our mind is made up, don't confuse us with the facts".. .Hope for all concerned the situation is more organized now.

Come off it 411A.........

That audit was an on the spot audit carried out as a result of false information given to the UKCAA by a disgruntled ex-employee from the maintenance department. Now,IF you were with us at the time, you would know this to be the case.

You are either getting incorrect information or are being mischievously, wreckless with the truth.. .I respectfully suggest, if you wish to stir the pot, add the correct ingredients or get out of the kitchen!

Sorry Whiskery, but you are wrong. The audit was planned in August but postponed, and my information came from a UKCAA senior inspector whom, I may be so bold to suggest, was MUCH closer to the situation then you.. .The situation at AAI has not changed much since the early ninetys, except for the faces that come and go. Problem is, they do not seem to learn from past mistakes. . .

You're full of it 411A.

Air Atlanta would never roster flights knowing a planned audit is about to take place. My crew were rostered to take over from DCW,JWR and HET returning from Alicanti and we were to crew the flight down to Lanarca on Saturday 24th at 1400hrs. At 1830 hrs on Friday the 23rd, Gatwick Operations rang me at the Posthouse to advise all operations had been cancelled for the week-end due to UKCAA audit. The reason,I was told, for the audit was

[quote] The CAA have reason to believe irregularities exist re: allocation of spare parts and other maintenance scheduling.

The audit showed NO irregularities and operations commenced again on the 26th October.

You are one terrible cook Mate!

Sounds like to me Whiskery that you are worried about your position....why else would you keep steadfastly defending AAI and their operations?. .You sound like Perry Mason addressing the jury.. .Oddly enough, their TriStar fleet manager contacted me early last year about jobs for some of the Flight Engineers, as the TriStar fleet was being reduced in numbers. We will hire two, both ex-Cathay senior guys.

Forgot to add awhile back..for CargoRat2,. .should you be so inclined, try for recruitment thru Direct Personnel (Dublin), as this is a very well run company, and they pay on time. ACE, on the other hand, was ALWAYS late with salary (don't know about now). Several of the expats had to call Iceland at least twice a month to chase down their pay.

The only thing I steadfastly defend,411A,is the the truth. I dislike distortion of the facts that result in bringing friends of mine and my Company into disrepute.

Bulldust artists distort the facts.

AS THE GREAT MAN WOULD SAY HIMSELF - I rest my case.
