Hi All,
Have attached a scan of a offical Armstrong Siddeley photo that i have, which appears to be some sort of small Saab Draken?

Anyone know what it is and the history of it. I have seen a picture of a Saab 210 'Lilldraken' which looks similar but not the same as far as i can make out.

Cheers

Yes, it is the SAAB 210 Draken. It first flew in December of 1951 to test the "double delta" wing configuration at subsonic speed. The main landing gear could be retracted forward or backward. Also, the C of G could be varied in flight by pumping liquid between trim tanks in the nose and tail. Air intakes, positioned in the wing roots, extended initially to the nose of the aircraft but were later cut back to a position level with the forward end of the cockpit enclosure. Basically a half-scale version of the wing used later on the SAAB 35 Draken, the SAAB 210 completed over 100 test flights by mid-1952.
