Quite right too. At the end of the day, if some b*****d wants to cheat, what can we do about it? Not a lot I would venture.

bigger fines and more deterrants would be a start.
here in sin they fined a forwarder SGD50K (about USD29K), jailed the clerk who issued the awb for 6 months (they had to pick a fallguy, hence the clerk) and withdrew their license earlier this year.
but the problem will not go away (see saa helderberg ex tpe, possibly the elal in ams and others....)
Well that's not enough. They should be put out of business; that aircraft is a write-off.
Even so, no matter what threats of fines/jail etc, there'll always be someone who's going to try it on.
