Common Guys, Share Yr Experience!how Has It Been Working All Those Long Years?

Big Tudor

Some of the pensioners in BY Ops at LTN must have been knocking on a bit. Zoom, RB and Google **** to (not) name a few.

In 1964 @ 19 still around (Flt Ops/Dispatch) and still having great fun and love to work. Jeez I'm a sad b'stard, just hand me another glass of good 'Scottish wine' afore I get the aeroperf sorted!

That young whippersnapper Big Tudor was suggesting that some of the old pensioners at BY were knocking on a bit. How dare he.!
What would he know-couldnt even be trusted to buy a pair of wellies in Gerona?
Surely what he really meant say was that they were very experienced!! RB is still in ops (Not BY) and doesnt look a day older than 20!! LOL
Actually "he" started in 1969 but Big John is also still in ops at Excel/TC is also in ops/Zoom is a Care bear at Luton (although about to retire or may even have just gone). They were all pre-1969 by a good couple of years.
Who was Google though?? Dont remember that pseudonym?

Uncle Bob, the grumpiest moustachioed ex-porn star known to man, is still manning the desks at Donington Hall for bmi. And he must be in his 80's, or maybe he just looks it !

Maybeenot,

You try buying a pair of wellies in Barcelona when it's 32C in the shade. I was having a hard enough job carrying the 1/2 scale B757 under me arm. ;)

The Google refers to Malc C, a moniker he was allocated during a BY Ops re-union in PMI I believe.

And if by 'experienced' you mean 'seen every possible situation on every possible aircraft type since Orville & Wilbur went skyward' then yep, BY Ops controllers were VERY experienced. :p;)

JB007 - BY Ops had 2 separate seniotory lists, as I recall. One for those who joined in the 20th century and one for the 19th! :E

RB looked many days over 20 when he was only 19! :E Could be the 1st Great Grand-Parent of Ops?! :ok:
