The QF LH CC EBA8 has been voted up by a huge majority.
The QF Domestics begin negotiations for their EBA shortly.
LH get back 75% of regional flying.MAM looks like it could be headed for the morgue.
Where does this leave the domestics?
Why was LH given back the bulk of regional flying?
The domestics will go back to being what they always were...domestic flight attendants. They never really cut the mustard internationally. Many are incredibly upset about this outcome.God knows why? They had their chance and blew it.The transfer list from Domestic to LH has grown considerably over the last two weeks. There are now over 300 crew wishing to transfer.Rats from a sinking ship one could say.
The world is returning to normal.
Good luck boys and girls...you are going to need it.

The longhaul EBA is set to have a significant impact on the CSM establishment at shorthaul. The FA surplus can be remedied to a certain extent by not giving the casuals any work. However all the CSMs are permanent and thus the union are in urgent talks with the company as to the effect on CSM numbers.

It is rumoured that the company will make a one off 'in catergory' transfer of CSMs to longhaul, as longhaul will need more CSMs as a result of the increased flying.

Last time when the 'in catergory' transfers were offered, many senior CSMs did not go, as they had too much LSL and were worried that if they went to longhaul, they would be forced to take it. However this time, many are lining up to go and spend their golden years at longhaul.

There has been no promotional movement for 6 years in LH and now the SOBs who caused so much grief want to have domestic Pursers tranfer to LH.
Are you totally without understanding of what you suggesting?
Stand yourself in front of a firing squad...The result will be the same.
You will piss off untold numbers of LH CSSs who have been waiting for a promotional opportunity for years.
When we had a surplus created by Domestics taking our flying over 1200 crew were VR.ed.
Why the hell should domestics get special treatment now that they have a surplus?
You guys have got some gaul.
Any Purser coming to LH under those circumstances would do so at their peril!!!

"The company" cannot do any such thing without agreement from both divisions of the FAAA.
It was done previously because of the Perth base closure as a one time only one for one transfer.
See the following newsletter from 2006 for clarification.

Short haul CSMs transferring to Long haul in Category

Please pass this information onto your colleagues as this message is circulated electronically only.
There seems to be some confusion amongst members in relation to the Company advertisement for the transfer of 7 Short haul CSMs to Long haul in category. The Association feels it is necessary to provide further clarification to members on this matter.
This is a once only transfer as a result of the Perth Long haul base closure at the beginning of this year. Some members may recall newsletters from the Association on this topic issued in November 2005.
To facilitate an extra option to the Long haul Perth CSMs that were facing redundancy at the time, the Company and both divisions of the FAAA came to an agreement for the swap of CSMs in category between Long haul and Short haul. This agreement also allows for future in category transfer of CSMs between the divisions on the basis of a 1 for 1 swap.
As a result of the 7 Long haulPerth based CSMs taking the option of transferring to Short haul in category, there is the ability for 7 Short haul CSMs to transfer to Long haul. This round of CSM transfer is to reciprocate the Perth Long haul to Short haul transfer at the beginning of this year.
Based on current operational requirements, the Company has determined these 7 CSMs transferring into Long haul will be operating out of Melbourne. This will help to alleviate the current shortage of CSMs in Melbourne. Further, due to this shortage of CSMs in Melbourne, the Company will not be activating the Long haul inter-base transfer lists as a result of this round of CSM transfer.
The Association is aware of concerns raised by onboard managers that have been waiting on the Long haul inter-base transfer list for a number of years and will continue to lobby the Company on this matter.

Does anyone know how many s/h csm's will be surplus?

Someone said that the lhr base is short of csm's and maybe it's something they could consider?
