74SP ELLX, who's A/C?

Hey there!!

Whats going on with that 747SP which has been parked at ELLX on the Sandweiler side for ages now. Sometimes it's in the Cargolux maintenace hangar for a few days, then back to the "parking" again. Who's the owner of that ugly bird, it could need a new paint job, but maybe thats more worth than the aircraft itself.

Good question! The aircraft is structurally damaged. I've heard 2 stories. One says cracked rear spar, the stays a crack in one of the main landing gear struts. The aircraft is ex Air Atlanta, ex Kazakhstan govt. 64 1st class seats, the inside is all moldy, engines are shot. I think a consortium of lawyers bought it, but since disolved. Parking fees/maintenance owed/maintenance to be done worth far far more than its worth.
