Sounds like bad stuff happening overthere. Other forums talking about crews being released, not furloughed, and down to four crews for one plane. True or false?

Just received a call from a good friend. He was notified yesterday.

Are Connie and Southern running the competition out of business, or was Focus a victim of it's own mistakes?

Since Connie and Southern have their own parts bin and (In Connie's case) heavy MX, I don't think Focus ever had a prayer. Their whole business model was based off of on time performance for a premium price. Now add a 30 year old 747 into that formula and keep it ontime, all the time....

Not shutting down but down to 1 airplane and 4 crews. 3 Captains to the right seat. Stiff competition and mis-management. May be resurrected as a 747-300 passenger operation later this year. (3 airplanes). We'll see.

Everyone is still shell-shocked by the recent turn of events. Didn't see it coming. :ooh:

Forgive me if I have not kept up - but my understanding was that Southern Air Transport had or were about to take over Focus ?

Southern bought Cargo 360, not Focus.

Souther Air Transport no longer exists, just plain old Southern Air, a totally different company:{

Southern Air purchased Focus' 2 GE powered airplanes. A -200 and a -300.

One of the RR birds is in Singapore awaiting an unknown fate. The other one is operating between Bangkok and Paris for Thai Air. Maybe only through the end of March. After that?????????

Negotiations are in progress for the purchase of the certificate.

And after that...

Rumor has it that Connie's -400s will take over that run...
