Hi, Are there any cheif pilots/recruiters or anyone else who can offer advice about moving into corporate or air charter work for a stalled career?

Current situation: Instructing on single engine
Previous experience: SEP/MEP air charter/bush flying Africa about 8 yrs ago.
Total time: 2500+hrs, but frozen (UK)ATPL since 1992! MCC, but MEP/IR not current.

Don't seem to be able to get interest, any suggestions on reasons: Too old? (44), Wrong experience? Wrong recent experience? Too ugly?! (need to be phychic, since no interviews recently!)

How out of date is your IR? That might be causing some problems.

Good luck.

Yes, was hoping to get someone else to pay for it this time (i.e. an employer) having paid myself for several renewals.

Hello Baron,

There are lots of jobs out there at the moment, but not many employers would look at you if your IR were not current.
Any employer worth their salt will put you in for a sim ride anyway......not many pilots, (if any!) would pass a sim assessment without recent practice.

With your experience I'm suprised you're not having any sniffs of jobs.

PM me when you have time, and we can discuss further.
