Happy New Year for 2008!

There are a choice of two images for January, both brilliant photos taken by Mark Ogden in the Australian ski fields when he covered the operation between Mt Hotham and Falls Creek ski resorts.

As always, for Windows users click on the thumbnail to open a higher resolution full picture, then right click to select “Set as Background”. Mac users should select the background via System Prefences.

Hi all,
well done again.
watching the background something looked weired to me.
The antennas on the top of the cockpit, they are pointing foreward.
I'm used to a different, more streamline view
http://www.flugzeugbilder.de/show.php?id=704764
but found also the other way to mount
http://www.flugzeugbilder.de/show.php?id=634213
Anyone an idea, why the antennas are mounted in different ways?
Best wishes for the New Year

Flying Bull,

We were always led to believe that the forward facing (as per the factory fit) antennae are that way to give working room when on the roof doing a pre flight. It makes no difference to the antenna performance, and certainly gets in the way when they are angled aft!

NNB/Nigel,

Many thanks: I no longer have a crew, I sold up in June and am now in a much more relaxed mode, enjoying life :ok:

Hi John,
tx for the quick reply.
I've no problems doing a preflight with angeld aft antennas.
Rotorhead and hydraulics - no problem.
I might rather kick one off, on my way to a perfect stand on the cabin roof, if it had been mounted like the one on the calenderpicture ;-)
Nut much space left there anyway with shoes size 48....(UK 12, US 12 1/²)
Greetings Flying Bull

Thanks for the January calendar, John

I know that anyone with good photos that could be used for a calendar would be welcome to send them to John or to Blender Pilot, for future use :ok:
