Like many of you, I have the odd batch of cassettes and I would like to record them into a format so I can play them on my iPod.

I have heard that there are lots of software packages out there but I have also been told that the iPod does in fact have its own recording function. Any ideas what is the best way for going about this? Any software would need to be compatible for the Apple Mac since that is what I use!

Cheers.....

I would:
use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) to record the cassette to my PC, to chop it up into tracks, get rid of his/pops etc and then export as mp3s
then copy the tracks to My Music
then import them to iTunes
then add mp3 tags so iTunes works properlyBut I am a sad techy git :)

Not sure about recording direct onto your iPod, but THIS (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic) will enable you to record onto your Mac.
