I was onboard as a child passenger, remember we landed at BIAK isl in Indonesia, then a dutch Base. Who knows about that flight? was early in year maybe January. My dad and mum onboard, surname Koomans. Harry and Joan. We left Amsterdam flying (from mem) via Rome, Khartoum, Karachi, (Singapore?), to Sydney. Fire was maybe 30 mins from Biak. Bumpy ride until extinguished, I was in loo at time, rescued by hostess. strapped me in rear seat until landed. First experience flying... ended up in RAAF 22 years later flying in green machines... lucky during Army service when offloaded from Caribou which crashed hours later near Kudgeru Gap, PNG. Never won lottery though... Bob Koomans
