Don't believe everthing you read. Qantaslink are taking people in the final stages of their CPL training. Need around 200 hours TT though. No need for multi time, heck don't even need an endorsement - the Dash 8 endorsement will cover that.

The Dash 8 endorsement is now paid in full by the company and there is no longer a bond. They figure if they do the right thing by you, you'll do the right thing by them.

A FO salary is well above the award. You are looking at around $90,000 per year, then $200K as a captain. You work 4 days a week, home every night.

You are talking about QL right? That seems very high in comparison to the figures I was told.

That's interesting, the award says $42K for FOs and $65K for captains on Dash-8s. Are you saying the are really paying nearly double that, or is this a wind up?

You're dreaming, mate. If the above was the case, an overwhelming number of pilots would not be leaving for other pastures. Factual data is as follows:

Sustaining Fleet:

1st year Capt $ 81,378
10th year Capt $ 92,241

1st year FO $ 51,174
8th year FO (God forbid) $ 56,628

Q400 (jet-like speed, piston-like pay):

1st year Capt $ 87,074
10th year Capt $ 98,698

1st year FO $ 54,756
8th year FO $ 60,592

Hope this helps.

JARSE!

Slightly better with cpi now roughly add another 3k to aforementioned figures

With 200 hours or close to the end of CPL you'd be talking about a "traineeship" versus FO emplyoment.

Expect Circa $50k PA until you are free of your return of service and your endorsement is paid for.

I was suprised to see my reply when I read through the thread this morning. Then I realised it was nearly three years old.

The funny thing was that my 2007 comment about 200 hour pilots wasn't that far off the mark as the traineeship was just over the horizon.

"Q400 Jet like speed/piston like pay" - that is seriously a good witty comment!

Jarse is spot on with his accounting skills.

Q400 (jet-like speed, piston-like pay):

1st year Capt $ 87,074
10th year Capt $ 98,698

1st year FO $ 54,756
8th year FO $ 60,592

If flying above the clouds get's you off then this is the gig for you. If a wealthy lifestyle and early retirement are what you desire then you will earn more as a McDonald's store manager or truck driver at Bunnings !

I think you will find that those numbers were current from 01/07/07. You can add another 6% to those figures, and a total of 9% when the new EBA is agreed to.

Hey guys,

just saw the QantasLink Trainee Program is back online for 2010, but it's saying it's an Intake 3. Anyway, what ever that means, just wanna share it on the forum! :ok:

You can usually pick em on the radio... Speaking of which Qlink 406D on the 13/10 out to Emerald, sounded like he was giving centre and the freight metro some grief with separation, was quite funny to listen to...
