What's this, and what is it doing there?
A remote spot (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Spadeadam,+Kingwater,+UK&ie=UTF8&ll=55.040796,-2.632025&spn=0.000744,0.002511&t=h&z=19&om=1)
I'm not much of a spotter, so it's probably something well-known, and I imagine that it's a test rig for the sort of things that go on in an electronic warfare testing range, but curious nonetheless.

I think Spadeadam is a 'Mock Airfield' as well as a Bombing range:confused:

I vaguely remembered the Blue Streak test rig at Spadeadam.
Going into Google produces losts of interesting pics including aircraft mentioned above.

Read all about it (and a whole lot more) here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan-turnbull/SECRET-BASES/). Fascinating site.
