Hi Boys & Girls,

Can anybody offer me suggestions (have tried search function with average success) on which aviation attractions are worth visiting whilst one is passing through London for a long weekend? It'll be this Kiwi's first time in the birthplace of my family.

Just to point out, warbirds and military themes are strong interests of mine!

Many thanks in advance....

The Aviation hall of the Science Museum in Kensington.

If you have time for a 1.5 hour drive each way and best part of a day to spend there, the Imperial War Musem and all the other organisations at Duxford near Cambridge.

The web sites of all these will give you travel directions.
Enjoy.

Just back down the M11 from Duxford is North Weald Aerodrome. There's a fair amount of interesting stuff there but I don't know if the hangars would be open. I just hope you receive the same welcome as my wife and I did in NZ back in March/April. Every airfield we visited welcomed us with almost open arms - something that doesn't usually happen at UK airfields!! We wen to the show at Omaka and flew in the Catalina. What joy.

Have fun..
