View Full Version : A Merry Christmas

Dear Fellow JB'ers

In these hallowed halls we extract urine in gallons, have "differences of opinion" (used to be called a good row!) and engage in computerised pugilism. And all this is great fun.

But as the Yule tide approaches I would like to take this opportunity to wish all those that post here a very merry Christmas to you and your families this year, and would hope that we can create one thread upon which we are all agreed, so

Merry Christmas from the 'Granite Household!

No. I'm sorry, but I must object!

In one fell swoop, you have alienated a lot of Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, & Jedi's! I just can't see how JB will ever be the same now...it was so much better in the old days, before my PC was reset...:(

;) Merry Syphillis & a Happy Gonorrhoea to all!

I think we've reached the Christmas quota. One more mention and the mods will close the thread, and ban us all for a month or so.

Just kidding...

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all the best wishes to all.

Merry Christmas to one and all - I have found (most) of the theads in JB to be of great amusement and solace during a v difficult year, for which I offer sincere thanks.

Merry Christmas to all, and sorry for having posted the mildly-funny-first-time-you-read-it PC Christmas message which is already available elsewhere on JB, and no doubt will reappear again before the 25th.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Right...it's December 22nd. I really need to start thinking about starting my Christmas shopping at some point . I should have started sooner. As Blackadder once said, "I think the phrase rhymes with Clucking Bell".

Happy New Year too by the way. Have a good one.

I wanted to send some sort of festive greeting to my friends and colleagues, but it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyer this morning and on his advice I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that Great Britain is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:

This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

MAY YOU HAVE A FANTASTIC FESTIVE SEASON AND GREAT 2008.

I hope everyone here has a great Xmas and wish them all the best for 2008.

This time of year can be especially difficult to cope with for many - sickness, accidents, loss of loved ones, friends or pets, memories which haven't healed. It'd be nice if we could just call a "time-out" sometimes.

And thanks to everyone for putting up with all my drivel during 2007!
