In latest cost cutting measures in response to US terrorist attacks, BA managers are to be requested to accept 10% pay cut. Can legally refuse of course but clear threat is that to do so would prove severely career limiting.

Cue no doubt the worst of the paranoid wingers on the forum to come out with the usual "scroungers" rubbish. These tho are real people with real mortgages to pay.

Sad that it should come to this. How long
before other well paid groups ,eg pilots are
"asked" to do the same.

Well as a BA pilot I'm paid considerably less than the management pay scales, nor do I receive any of the management perks such as free family healthcare, company car, company laptop, company mobile phone and management staff travel allowance (two free 1st class firm per year). If they want 10% of my meagre salary they can sing for it, they already reclaim 12% of my salary for "training costs". Nice of Rod to give up 15% though. Will he be returning some of those 170,000 share options?

I think that those 170,000 options of Rod's will be pretty much worthless right now unless he does his job properly and restores some value to the company!

Whilst your pay levels might not be high enough to make any dent in BA's losses, Carnage Matey! there are plenty of senior captains out there who are earning rather a lot more than many (indeed most) of the BA managers. A 'voluntary' reduction from that category would doubtless be most gratefully welcomed - who's going to be first to volunteer? :D :D :D

See BA 15% pay cut (http://www.pprune.org/cgibin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=015817) which was posted before this thread.
