Hey guys,

I've got a client looking for lift. I've been doing some research and I came across the numbers on the G200. They seem impressive, especially in the range area. The factory boasts 3800 nm. Even with a modest reduction for realism:) its still a real 3000 nm ship.

The cabin size is good also and it has good external baggage. So what gives?

I mean I know its got boots, but its a jet so really shouldn't spend to much time in icing conditions. Is it under powered?

The prices aren't too bad either ranging from 12-17 million.

The G200 is indeed a good 3000NM+ airplane, with nice performance...

The 2 main reasons for it's lack of popularity are

1. Reliability. The first 50 to 70 airframes had a catastrophic dispatch reliability, due to haphazard assembly standards in the IAI factory in Israel. Things have improved somewhat, but the reputation as a hangar queen sticks..

2. Runway performance. The G200 basically shares it's wing with the G100, i.e. the wing is really a bit small for the size and weight of the aircraft, resulting in Vrefs of almost 140 knots. Despite good brakes, this makes a whole range of corporate airfields a no-no for commercial operation: Cannes and Bern come to mind...
