Dear Collegues! How are U? I am very worry because I passed Emirates interviews but they gave me a list with w&h in proportion and I am underweight 5 kilos!!I am eating a lot and even I went to the Doctor, and my blood test and everything is perfect but I cannot put on weight easily. Do you think that if I go to Dubai, and weight me, will they send me back to my country, Italy? Because I cannot reach the 5 kilos? Or will they be happy if I can certify with a doctor that I am a very healthy person?. .Please, any ideas? Are they very strict on that? Please help me!!! Thank you very much in advance to all. See ya!

I hope the moderators won't cancel this reply... I'm not sure I am allowed to write in italian on this forum... Anyway, it's a one time thing. I promise!. .-----------------------------------------------. .. .Cara Sky28,. .. .. .Ciao e buona fortuna!. .. .Floaty / Mrs. FloatJockey

I have no idea what Floaty said but sky28 the height/weight in proportion usually refers to being OVERweight, not UnDERweight.. .. .As long as you are healthy it shouldn't be a problem.. .. .Weight is an issue if you can't fit comfortably down the aisle or out of an overwing emergency exit.. .. .And believe me I've seen a few who couldn't! . .. .Good luck with Emirates, I hope you get through.. .

Sky28,
Non preoccuparti! ;)
As the Lizard says, height &weight tables are a polite and politically correct way of telling the fat to go and lose some weight!
Honest, don't worry, you'll do just fine.
Best of Good Luck, you are embarking on an exiting adventure!!

Sky28 - don't worry. I wonder they didn't check your weight at the interview (they did so at mine). They will check it when you do your medical, at the beginning of trainingcollege and at the end of it. If everything else is ok with you they might tell you that you have to gain some kgs - and leave it as that. Usually after trainingcollege it is never checked (so far) (rumours say that they might if you go for your upgrade - I will see next month ;) ). I know some of EK-staff who are 3-5 kgs "underweight" (as well as over) - as long as you are healthy and able to do your job it's usually not a problem!

Hi guys...

Floaty basically gave Sky28 this excellent advice (excuse poor translation)...

If the diet does not work for you, try to exercise: muscles add bulk as they weigh more. If they make you to go to Dubai and then send you home because of 5 stupid kilos, then they are the losers and you've lost nothing. Try to dress so that it is not too noticeable. Don't make your self sick over it, is not worth the pain!

Cheers Theo
