Hello all,. . would appreciate any info on the rumour that QF L/H may start/increase L/H ops for FA's out of Perth. Any info on whether it happens now, or happening soon would be muchly appreciated. Also trying to get a feel for the L/H FA recruiting situation at QF in general. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance....

I don't know about the PER basing but I doubt Long Haul will be recruiting for a while yet.. .. .450 Sydney based Long Haul crew have just been granted redundancy packages. About 200 have already gone with the rest being staggered until June.. .. .I know QF do some really silly things regarding crewing numbers so I wouldn't be surprised if they did find themselves shortstaffed at the end of the year. . .. .So I guess Double A it wouldn't hurt to keep your fingers crossed. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

I think they will be short of long haul crew soon and there is a notice @ QCC (Qantas HQ) advertising vacancies for crew based out of Perth. Short Haul crew can also apply and the usual two year divisional transfer wait period had been waived.

Meanwhile is SYD they are short of CSS's and first class crew due to the redundancies, these positions have been advertised for crew to apply for so once they move into the roles they will need to hire more f/a's to fill their roles.

QF resource planning works in mysteries ways!!!

Thanks guys,
from what you say it seems to be in a state of constant flux and kind of hard to predict - I appreciate your comments. If anyone else has any thoughts/info that would be great. Cheers... :)

Friend of mine was SH out of MEL and she has just got LH from PER in the last month.

I do wonder if anyone at QF actually plans where they intend to be with crew numbers.
