Hi All,
I am unable to hear any music through my PC(running XP with SP2).:ugh: Video plays fine, but again, no audio. Google reccomended I uninstall the WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver, which I did, and attempt to update it form www.windowsupdate.com. Needless to say that did not work so now I seek advice form the wealth of knowladge resident on prune! Sounds and Audio Devices in Control panel also says that Kernel Audio Splitter and DRM Audio Desrambler are not working either.
Over to you!:ok:

Is that a sound card or onboard sound?

It's the standard Microsoft bits, although I have SoundMAX Intergrated Digital Audio, which appears to be working normally.

Desktop or laptop?

What is the sound output device?

Built-in or remote speakers?

Did you ever have sound?

Can you get any any sounds at all - as in start-up / shut-down, system events?

Is the speaker on mute?

Are the speakers switched on?

Thanks Frostbie and SD, a bit more google work revealed a driver error. Reinstall swenum.sys and all is well again. Just in time for Top Gear too!:ok:
