Same here - Mrs UFO going out on a girlie night in Brum, staying with her sister. I'm off to listen to a local group in the next village and get a few Pedigrees down me neck.

Hey, join the rest of us home alone on a Friday night!

It's a Marks & Spencers fish supper for one, washed down with a Belgian beer, probably watch a DVD then an early night...

Boy, you know how to live, LN. Not Iceland or Farmfoods eh? I'm just off to the kitchen to prepare a Thai(-ish) chicken curry. Might have a Boddies (or two) after ,while I'm watching Have I got News for You and QI. Friday night's the only decent night on the telly, and that aint saying much!

one knows the location of a chrissy party, decent pub, decent beer FREE bar and might think of employing the odd go-go dancer for the night to help with the entertainment:E

This is a gender neutral suggestion BTW

Have you ever considered necking a few triple nasties then spending an evening talking absolute cobblers on a loosely aviation-related chat site?

Could be worse, gingernut... Mrs C's work night out is also tonight, but I don't get off lightly as 'other halves' are expected to attend. Sadly, the owner of the company likes to bash bible, so there won't be a drop o' booze... :{

... which explains why I'm prepping myself with a bottle of wine... nighters all :}

Thats the start of the slippery slope gingernut.

You'll be onto Mackesons Stout, bagatelle, dominoes, shove ha'penny, emphesymas, bar billiards, snooker, talking about El Alamein, wife beating, greyhounds, yellow ceilings, people who say "aye" a lot, Capstans, darts, "Dads and Lads" tag bare-knuckle Thai kick-wrestling.

Wouldn't you be better converting to your shed into a roller-disco?

Well, my friends, Saturday night is upon us soon - hair of the dog, anyone, or are we all sitting in front of the telly again?

LN - yup. Husband's away ski-instructing, so it's just me and the hound. Shall open a bottle of chilled sparkling, grill some lamb chops, throw a salad together and watch a DVD. Let's see...... think I'll go for the Creature Comforts Christmas Special followed by the Clapton Crossroads gig.

I've gone out scavenging for supper, then will be back home to daydream about being saved by a tall, dark, blue eyed man who will steal me away from the drudgery of life...
