Airport taxes

Just a question. I tried to book a lfight on airlink JNB-BFN for two adults! The price was not bad but when I tried to pay the airport taxes was more than R800! Needless to say I said stuff that and made other arrangements :)

The total wihtout the taxes came to about R900 return for both people and I seem to remember that the amount they can charge for taxes was 15% or a fixed amount, memory is slipping :} Am I wrong or can they charge anything they want for this so called 'airport taxes'?

A significant portion of the R 800 is the "fuel surcharge" charged by all carriers.

Airlink don't fly JNB-BFN unless they have changed their schedule in the past few days. They do fly DUR -BFN however.
