I LOVE IT! Fellow Wannabes, for once it's MY turn to scream "I've got an interview!!!!!". . .. .Any help/gosip concerning easyJet cabin crew recruitment (Geneva based) like: how to walk? how to breathe? how to beg better? ... . .No, let's talk seriously: I really would like to get in touch with someone working in there. Any info is kindly appreciated.. .. .Mrs. FloatJockey. .. .p.s.: Oh well, I might have to relocate again... that's life!. .. .-------------------------------------------------. .Not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck!

Mrs FloatJockey Well done I actually have a question for you. Can you tell me what the requirements are as i was under the impression you had to be a swiss national to work out of Geneva and if not then have a certain visa which apparently is very hard to obtain. Also which languages are you required to speak? . .Thanks

Dont know about the visa bit, but part of Geneva airport is in France, You dont have to leave the EU when you arrive there. You could do what my brother does which is work in Geneva, live in France, get paid in Swiss Francs and only pay the 1% tax. Sounds to good to be true doesnt it.

Float Jockey. .. .Well done! Is this your first?. .. .I attended many interviews before I was offered a position. (Three in the space of a fortnight actually!!!!) One was with Impulse, one with SkyWest in Perth and one was, believe it or not - easyJet (LTN base though)!. .. .I accepted Impulse (OCT 2000). If it doesn't rain, it poors, I reckon!. .. .OK - BE YOURSELF! That is what I noticed made me stick out at the interviews where I was accepted. . .. .MINGLE, but don't be fake - it is so obvious. HUMOUR and laugh with other people.. .. .Be smart and classy but INFORMAL and APPROACHABLE at the same time. . .SMILE!!! :-) (Make your face hurt!) . .. .Be HAPPY and CONFIDENT. . .. .Go in KNOWING WHAT YOU WILL SAY. . .. .Shake hands. Never say "Umm or use conjacates (spelling?) ie. use "do not", not "don't". .. .Use positive comments/directions.. .. .And be RELAXED. try to calm people who look nervous even.. .. .Laugh and chat but do not always be talking. You want to shine because of the vibe you send out and your personality. I saw people running around the room introducing themselves and acting important - do not be too outgoing and obnoxious (as some people tend to get at interviews - though the not be in real life). .. .Be open and honest when asked a question. Do not be too frightened to ask for clarification or to have a question repeated. Have lots of questions to ask if you are invited to do so. . .. .And know lots about the company / a/c and try to find out inside stuff that others wouldn't know. I think that's what made the difference in the three cases I was accepted.. .. .I'm rambling, (It's 1am!) but I hope that helps... Any specifics feel free to ask. . .. .Ciao!

Thanks to everyone for coming back to me! It's great to share my excitement (and fear) with PPRuNers! . .. .BelgianBeauty, I AM a bloody Schwiezer! (Poor me) That's probabily the only reason they came back to me! I'm also a POM but you wouldn't say because my english is c%*p... whatever.. .So yes, they want people with swiss passport or work permit (B or C, which means temporary or permanent resident) and it's pretty tuff to get the right to work in Switzerland, except if you want to marry my brother... . .They also require fluency in french and english, offering extra money for extra languages. Check the website: www.easyJet.com and you'll find quite a lot... except an application form (but I can give you the H.R. e-mail, if you agree to date my bro'!) . .. .Chrismcmon, your brother is a very clever boy! It's true, France is cheaper and very close to Geneva-Cointrin. Lots of people live the other side because they cannot afford to pay rent in Geneva or simply because they prefer living there , however the traffic at the border is a nightmare. I don't know about the one percent tax thing... . .. .Yes, Ditzyboy, this is my first interview (for F/A), aaaaargh! . .. .I have two problems I tend not to control and one is: when/how to stop talking??... That IS the biggest problem of being a FEMALE! . .. .Second "hic": during interviews I feel a bit unconfortable (especially with H.Rs.), and no matter how much positive energy I build before I walk in, **** ups are nothing new to me... . .. .Well, thanks for all your tips, I'll try my best to get ready and I'll keep you posted!. .. .Cheers,. .. .Mrs. Freaking FloatJockey . . . . [ 16 March 2002, 11:13: Message edited by: FloatJockey ]

He he he! Thanks Nick!. .. .I don't know about the Rock thing.... however my parents used to run a ballroom, so I'm pretty good at valzer and mazurka... . .. .Read your mail!. .. .Ciao for now.. .. .Female FloatJockey. .. .-----------------------------------------. .By the way, do you like my new NICKname??? I thought it was time to start walking with my own legs... eeeh, writing with my own name, sorry.. . . . [ 17 March 2002, 01:30: Message edited by: Floaty ]
