In recent tests, chimps appear to have out-performed humans in critical situations such as memorising the location of numbers on screens (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7124156.stm).

So maybe NASA should have stuck with chimps too...?!

Death knell for ATC? 'Cause chimps can memorise numbers? Shurely shome mishtake! Datalink should be sounding the death knell for pilots as it'll enable ATC to communicate directly with the aircrafts brain, rather than through the current carbon based interface :}

Ok I'll bite, you'll actually be communicating with a data processor, not a brain!:rolleyes:

I am yet to see a computer which can say "somethings not quite right here" then take action to fix the situation. Sometimes the numbers may add up, but it is intuition that alerts you that something is wrong...:eek:

So...what...am I wasting my time on a career change then???:confused:

Does that mean there'll be a heap of jobs available as Gorrilla-grams???

ATCers, they're just glorified dispatchers anyway Buster...;)
