View Full Version : Impulse Airlines Recruitment update

Impulse was supposed to recruit today in Hobart (80 attendees invited), however, due to industrial action by the FAAA (Flight Attendants Union), the recruitment in Hobart has been postponed.. .. .The FAAA directed all of its members not to clean out seatpockets, after a risk assessment proved that there was a risk of flight attendants receiving needle stick injuries during cleaning. As a result, management thought it more appropriate to clean out seatpockets instead of turning up to conduct the recruitment (and not waste the time of 80 people who took they day off work!!). .. .As I understand, next stop is Melbourne, followed by Sydney. Recruitment been pushed back in Hobart until management get their act together!

That's pretty crazy Mr. Seatback 2... Why would people stick needles in the seatpockets anyway? Can't they find better spots to shoot themselves?. .Like a nice toilet in a shopping mall? . .. .Well, I'd like to know what's going on with interviews in Sydney? Anyone got called and can give me some info?. .. .Cheers.. .. .Mrs. FloatJockey

Mrs FloatJockey,. .. .Never be suprised at the disgusting things passengers leave in seat pockets. You'd think they'd have more courtesy knowing that we have to clean up after them!!

HEAR HEAR Miss Shagwell!. .. .They just did Melbourne (8th March), Hobart TBA since they cancelled that one at the last minute, and Sydney 27th, 28th and 29th March.. .. .But like anything in life, nothing is certain...this is the most recent info I have heard!

For your info.... Management came on board last Wednesday and WATCHED us clean (inc. seat pockets!) in HBA. They never actually ventured past row 1!. .. .I am sadend that management decide seat pockets were more important than more FAs! And that they didnt care 80 or so people took the day off work for this oportunity. :-(. .. .Also, does recruitment down there mean that I won't be in HBA three nights a week?! :-)

Oh, and P.S....... .. .I didn't mean that to be a negative comment - just an observation.. .. .I have read a couple of bad posts on here re. Impulse/Airconnex/QFLink or whatever it is that we are called. I'd just like to say that I have been with the company since the days of Impulse and those hideous uniforms (!!!) and I am having such a great time. The people I work with are all legends and we have a lot of fun.. .. .The company is still small enough to know everyone without getting too personal and in ya face. I love the flying we do in Sydney - it is varied, which is more than I can say for Melbourne FAs. MEL-HBA-MEL-HBA..... How much fun could it be?! :-). .. .Thank God we got rid of Coolangatta flights though - the pax sucked ass! :-). .. .Management is pretty good most of the time - just a few Hillbilly ideas and lack of respect toward employees at times.

Hi Trolli-dolli, hi everyone!. .. .Nop, same for me: no feedback from Impulse so far. I applied quite late so that might also be the reason. I read Mr. Seatback 2's post and since I'm in a pretty good mood today, I think I'm gona give them a call! Oooops!. .. .Well, good luck and keep this topic updated!. .. .Cheers,. .. .Mrs. FloatJockey. .. .----------------------------------------------. .Joy is an uncapturable yet utterly predictable side effect of genuine community.

hey float jockey. .. .let us know how the phone call went..... .. . the company seem to be doing things differently by way of recruiting now. same format for the interviews i think just A LOT more in depth. they also seem to be using more assesors at each interview than they did in the good old days of impulse. i would be interested to know how things are done now.

Hi all. .. .Is Impulse still accepting CVs?. .. .Congrats again NickMelb! At least you will know what to expect with the interview, so it should be a breeze.

Gosh! NickMelb, you're a champion!. .. .The only interview I've got is for a company located the other side of the world...and I never got contacted by any airline in Australia, no matter how hard I tried and how many sandwiches I ate under Virgin Blue's building... Just jocking! . .. .At this stage I am wondering if I am doing something wrong.... .. .Could someone give me a hint?. .. .1) Do the airlines in Australia REALLY hire non Australian citizen (with residency, of course)?. .2) Anyone over 30 who got an interview lately?. .3) Is it possbile to capture their attention even without having a strong customer service background? I mean, I was dive instructor (which requires a lot of tact and patience anyway) but I never really had a uniform that wasn't a dirty T-shirt and flip-flops ... Do you think H.R.s are a bit snobby and might think I look/talk/act more like a Viking rather than a lovely customer service chick? . .. .Well, I've got to go and baby-sit my cousin (33 years old)... bye for now and good luck NickMelb for your interview! Lucky duck! . .. .Mrs. FloatJockey. .. .---------------------------------------------. .I don't want 20 interview, I just need 1 (ONE) job!
