View Full Version : Jepps - CTR comms??

I am hoping someone more experienced with using Jepps can help me find where Jepps details the ability to communicate with Centre at various airports. I have recently arrived at several locations (FBS & MDG) and been unable to cancel SAR on VHF leading to a scramble to find a phone to call CTR.

ERSA details either on ground, circuit area or xxxx ft, but Jepps appears inconsistent. In Jepps there is sometimes a note on the airport diagram, sometimes in the airport directory, and sometimes nothing. Unfortunately, nothing can mean either good VHF on ground (ARM) or no VHF on ground!

Thanks,

Nivo

I have the same issue with Jepps. My solution is to ask CTR in the circuit whether or not I can get them on the ground. If not, I cancel in the air.

VHF coverage on the ground is shown on the Enroute charts as a little purple "V" in a box. No "V" - cancel in the air.
