about 100nm north of Syd......

what can best be described as a passing of wind. Feel sorry for the next person to use that mic.

Empty vessels make the most sound.

On another odd topic that had slipped my mind.

Can anyone give an explanation as to what the following is?

Flying MML - BBN - MML at night earlier this year, on the M-B leg I would see strange light patterns across the ground. Observed this every night for a week along approx 60% of the route but only in the M-B direction?

Reasonable explantion peferred :-)

Do those lights look like a really fast train made of light, darting across the ground? If so, its probably the moon reflecting off creeks and dams. I saw the same thing the other day and it looked unreal.

Can't be. I thought all the creeks and dams were dry over there.

Ahhh, yes that would make a lot of sense. Mostly line shapes it was make with some curves and triangles, prob the shapes of the creeks.

But then again they would dissappear it a matter of seconds - would that be due to the reflection angle changing as we moved?

I've let the occasional one rip over guard across the Atlantic and African continents....just for the amusement! I have a technique whereby I slide the microphone under my anus.:) Let's try and organise a combined fart on guard the world over...lets say December 31st at 1600 UTC?
