Feel free to PM me if you can.

Showtime or Orbit will give you the decoder with the subscription.

DSTV is hard to get in Dubai, but if you do a PPrune search you will find details of how to obtain it.

Humax IRCI-PVR is tops with easy interface and great on-screen displays.

Buy it local, no need to get it in the UK where you may have compatibility issues.

It doesnt sound like you want to talk directly with Orbit or Showtime :)

Our local satellite souk is offering a complete installation of dish decoder with a free 'únlimited' subscription to most Orbit & Showtime channels. Suggest you talk directly to the experts and explain exactly what you are seeking to obtain.

@ 4HolerPoler

Thanks mate, assume your recommended receiver supports 'únlimited' subscription to most Orbit & Showtime channels!

whoever said that there is no quality TV in ME, has not run thru the FTA channels holding pages......

You will probably need a second decoder for the more detailed exploration of these channels.

plus a viewing card.

Orbit is supposed to work only with their supplied decoder and subscription (I'm not saying there are not any "hacks" out there!), and I think Showtime and other similar satellites are the same.

Plenty of "free" stuff available, but largely "Italian pseudo-porn phone-me" channels, others good if you speak Lithuanian or Polish. Couple of "Church Channels", and a few rock music channels.

Unless you're into"hacks" and can find the one for the sat you want, and it doesn't stop decoding after a couple of months, then you've probably got to fork out for the "proprietary" decoder and the annual (or monthly) fee.

The best receiver/decoder is the original DSTV 990 box with the 8 day's ElectronicProgramGuide and automatic upgrading. Al Awal Electronics in Ajman is selling and installing this box. http://www.pprune.org/forums/images/infopop/icons/icon14.gif
DSTV is available without the 'EPG' on Humax IRCE, MicroX IR and other IRDETO II boxes.

They sell and renew original DSTV cards and have 'Hybrid'-cards for DSTV

a 'Dreambox', a Internet decoder, for all the DSTV, Showtime and Orbit and much more programs is available to.

Joris

For a pittance you can get H/flying animal and the longest river sat and watch lots of things for free including the old in and out 24/7.
