Why he's he not welcome Zerfas? Every community needs the Village Idiot! And he's a hell of a good certified one (through the moronic comments he uses to inflict us) :)

PS
Hem, I'm not gay; but can I apply for the status of honorary member?

Oh Christ, here we go again! Is this a flying forum or a sick pick up forum?

Tamme

Sensible,
why being so frustrated??
First of all, thank you all for your Replies.
Actually, I did not expect any Gay Men in this Forum, don´t know why, but I didn´t. So I was glad to find out, that there are some more Queens.
Already wanting to hang out as a big Crowd is probably a little too early, maybe even having a big Orgie, grin.......
If anyone is seriously thinking about getting to know someone else, or in particular Me, email and trade Pics.
We will all see where this leads then.......
And for everyone like Sensible. Relax and enjoy Life! Pick ups are always better than Drop downs!
Girls, get undressed....... :)

Allright folks, time to lay down a few ground rules, I feel.

Firstly and most importantly I believe, and I feel the vast majority of contributors and regulars in this forum would agree with me, that there is one thing that makes this forum stand out over and above the others, both on the web in general, and even just on this site. That thing is a shared sense of community.

No matter who we are, where we come from, or who we choose to play with in our time off we all ply our trade on board aircraft, or want to ply our trade on them. That is why we are here, first and foremost. After all, the entire raison d'etre of this site is to bring people with a common love of aviation together, from whatever walk of life or community.

With that in mind, I don't think it is right to create some sub-grouping on here based on sexual orientation, or any other arbitrarily chosen maxim. I can see this thread heading down that direction, and it will inevitably drag strong dissenting views with it. This thread has been very good natured, with a good sense of humour so far (still is) to the credit of everyone who is contributing.

So, if I have to prioritise anything on this forum I will prioritise the overall sense of community. That for me is the most important issue here... no matter who you are you are welcome here as part of the aviation family. Lets not subdivide any further than that.

Secondly I feared from the outset that this might just possibly turn into some kind of 'contact' or 'pick-up' thread. These appear on here in some form other roughly once a month, and are usually along the lines of "Any hot hosties going to be in (pick an airport location, any airport location) on Tuesday, looking for a good time!!!!."

I close those threads down as soon as I find them, or just simply delete them without explanation. This is most certainly not that type of forum, for anybody of any persuasion. If you want to arrange contacts, you are all grown-up, internet-literate people, and therefore are aware of the multitude of ways to do just that using your computer and some ingenuity. This thread is now stepping firmly into that territory, and in order to be even handed, I should close it down. I've got to deal the cards as fairly as possible in here...

What I'm most certainly not saying is don't flirt, don't suggest, keep your innuendos under wraps. Not for one moment would I propagate that atmosphere in here....

I just feel that it is more important to maintain a sense of "being as one" with an interest in the mutiple trials and tribulations of this Great Game than creating special interest groups within a special interest group. Other websites for Cabin Crew have chosen to do just that, and more power to them. They have the luxury of being specialised towards Cabin Crew, with mutliple forums at their disposal.

We don't have that luxury on here, so we have to build on what strengths we have. Our biggest strength is our community, and you are all part of that, no matter who you are. And everyone is made equally welcome on here.

Fair comments, folks? Thanks for listening. Now I can resume pulling the legs off this particularly recalcitrant spider I have here!

Happy Hogmanay....!

I am just wondering if there are any lesbians out there, as everyone is quick enough to sniff us out, but are those who are out there frightened of coming out in a female orientated environment??

SLaag,

If you wish to find out whether there are any lesbians or whatever on this forum, try Introline or some other dating service! :)

Please, let’s not ruin this forum, there are a great bunch of people on this forum, and we all have one thing in common, that is “Aviation”. The reason I’m here, is to chat about the experiences I’ve had in the years as a Flight Attendant and anything to do with Aviation, as well as to share it will all others, and especially the ones who life long dreams were to become Flight Attendants... Pilots or whatever!

On a final note, just like to wish everyone a Happy... Safe and Successful 2002

SICK SQUID,DOOHAN....I could not agree with you both more.
This topic, had nothing to do with aviation, and seemed a little "out of place" on PPRUNE.

PS..Sick Squid...I know your into pulling legs of spiders, but have you ever tried pulling the wings of flys??? LOL :)

I think I`ve read some of your postings on crewstart?
Pprune is NOT like crewstart and more pilot/flight deck issues and more serious cabin crew issues. Sexual preferences and trying to discover others in the same boat on this site just does NOT happen.
A good six months ago there was a posting regarding gay pilots which ran and ran and carried varrious comments some which were hilarious to some which may think you were back in the 1930`s.
I am glad you are happy with your sexual preference of partner. However, some people are not and it may be better NOT to lets put it "throw it into others faces".
If you are looking for a partner I believe there are hundreds of, if not thousands of sites which can help you.

There's just one catch: I'm a lesbian in a man's body! :)

Hey Euroboy,
I totally agree with you. I might appear to most People as a rude, cheap and superficial "Whatever", but if you knew me, you would think differently.
The only Thing that I want to achieve with those Posts is, that People should just confront themselves with these Facts. I am not pushing anyone to post a Reply here, those who are interested in this, do so, the other don´t, and that is Ok.
My Intention is to also show and confront People with Things, that They might not like. Of course, I am aware that those Things might offend other People, but if we would never say something that offends somebody else, where would we be then????
Maybe I do like to provoke, but I think that Confrontation and Conversation even about Hot Topics is very vital to our Modern Society.

For years i've had to put up with peoples comments that im throwing it in their faces if I even mention the fact that I am gay! I find it infuriating that the same attitude is found here in the cabin crew section of an aircrew forum!

I do agree that this isn't the place to do the meeting up thing, but if people dont want to read these posts we've all got a mouse, use it!

Thanx for the voice of reason BISCUIT CHUCKER! You're a star! x

Run search under JetBlast. "Gay Pilots" begins 13 March 2001 ran 23 pages.
You will then see why I just think care should be taken.

Zerfas, Tamme...

There is nothing wrong with people being gay. In the avaiation Industry there are a lot of gay people as we all know. I dont think that anyone is having a go at you for being gay. I have a lot of gay friends, both gals and guys. That is not what Sick squid and everyone else was posting about. The complaint was that this forum is not really a "meeting point" for gays/straight or lesbians. We are all here to discuss avaiation and it did seem out of place to discuss our sexual prefrences here thats all. Im sure that most people here are only interested in discussing avaiation. As Sick Squid said he often has to edit posts/topics for people writting in wishing to meet "hot hostee's". We dont want this to turn into a meat market or pick up forum. Your right we do have a mouse and can choose what to read, and that is why we choose pprune and not a site dedicated for meeting singles ect...
Please, I think you may have mis inturpreted the previous posts....no one is having a go about being gay.

Take care..
