Dear Member Pilot,
I am a scenery designer for Flight Simulator, we menage to rebuild the kaitak airport.
We miss the coordinate of the the localizer KL 111.90/088 for the IGS 13 we now that was near the checker board but with no precision.
We also want to invite pilot and ATC, who are playing with FS9 to test our scenery and let us know if it give some similar sensation on landing to the kaitak and if the technical aspect are correct.
If anyone want to try just drop me an email and i will send you the info to download the scenery.
This project is a freeware and it will be release for free.

Thank you for your help.

PS. Sorry to ask for such subject wich is nothing to do with the real purpose of this forum.

I cannot quote the lat/long for the localiser's position but can describe where the antenna array was if you have a map or photograph of Kowloon showing the large sports field complex (Kowloon Tsai Park) immediately to the south of the chequerboard. It was on extreme eastern edge of the sports field complex almost hidden by trees about half the length of the soccer fields south of the swimming pools which were at the base of the south facing chequerboard.

I have a set of the Jeppesen charts and although they do not quote the exact co-ordinates of the IGS antenna they are quite close to:
N22.20 E114.10 just NW of the 377 RW beacon which is N22 19.6 E114 11.5.
Hope that helps.

Thank's for help, I really appreciate because after two year of building this airport in a scenery and not know this important information would be really useless all is about the IGS:sad:.

For CV880 if you don't mind, could you send me back this image with a dot or a cross with a paint program on it that show the exact position.
I can find it perfectly by using googlemap.

For 7FF is it possible to tho get some photocopy of the jeppesen chart I would like to pay for that. I really interesting as I am collecting everything from jeppesen and specially the terminal chart of the kaitak.
Thank you
Fabrizio

Not sure if my computer skills are up to your request but in the google image the two bright white shapes above the right hand soccer field (of the 3 parallel fields) are swimming pools (presumably empty when the satellite image was taken). To the east of the roadway running north past the right hand soccer field there is an area of grass with trees on 3 sides opposite the gap between the north end of the soccer field and the swimming pools. The localiser antenna was at the back (eastern side) of this area almost under the trees bordering Inverness Road. The antenna was on an elevated platform quite high off the ground (10 - 15 feet if my memory is correct) possibly to prevent interference from vehicles on the park access road in front of it.
Incidentally some of the strobe lights marking the curved approach ran through the park along the line of trees between the south end of the 3 soccer fields and the running track before continuing across the rooftops in Kowloon City to the east of the park.
Hope the above helps.
