Excel the number one on time airline out of LGW and MCT last summer , how was this done if they are the most un-professional in the buisiness ?.

I think that you are a bit wide of the mark !.

Tony, what reasons do u have to say that about Excel? http://www.smilies.nl/sad/nixweiss.gif. .I agree we all have our own opinions, but as an ex Excel Airways purser I strongly disagree with u. I had a wonderful time there, very professional people and very friendly 2.. .Ciao

Yeah, but friendly or not, their parent company just posted a £18m loss - and this in conjunction with rumours of various accounting methods having been used in order to lessen that figure to the one posted ?!

Maybe all's not as well as might be suggested.

http://www.smilies.nl/tales/merlin.gif. .I dunno much about Excel financial condition, also believe at the moment most companies are not sailing in calm waters....however, as far as I am aware air2000dub asked for interviews details and how are they like to work for! http://www.smilies.nl/deal.gif

Well if you'd bother to work most of your roster last Summer Tony, then perhaps you may have gained a better insight into Excel Airways! If you were "long-term sick" then it could be understood........ .We are growing, we have a very good business plan and posted a pre-tax profit of £7.47 million!! So I guess someone, above!, has got "duf" gen!! . .Our parent company announced a pre-tax profit of £1.4 million!!. .I would consider our company (in case you didn't guess, I work for Excel!) to be one of the most accomidating and flexible airlines around. We all want to achieve the same goals. But,. .we don't suffer fools gladly!. .If you want to fly for a charter airline, then expect roster changes and disruption because thats life!!. .Do give us a try! We won't bite - Ask Xenia!!

Just a question for you, what is the minimum age requirement for Excel? I've heard that they are a good company to work for, and I would like to become a member of their cabin crew! . .Any ideas then? Also, do they recruit all year round? how long are the contracts for? how long would it take from application to comencement of training?

Thanks guys, any help much appreciated!

Speculation is that Mytravel are in talks with Libra with the aim of buying the company. How would this affect Excel?

Aviation lives around rumors and speculations http://www.smilies.nl/laugh2.gif It's always been, and always will http://www.smilies.nl/eek6.gif. .As I am not in UK anymore, don't know about what is going on up there....maybe my Mad-Air http://www.smilies.nl/love/luxlove.gifcould tell us more.... .LFG, I believe minimum age should be 19, and if u really wanna fly, u better start moving and contact airlines...the season, otherwise, will be over b4 you will realize it!

FAO Tony...and did you get kicked out of all your other flying jobs as well ? :)

I don't like the tone of this, or where it could lead. Don't even think about starting a personal argument along these lines.... . .Sick Squid. .Cabin Crew Forum Moderator

Psr777 - Where did you get that information??!! I've gotta feeling that belongs in the Bovine Stratology department......!

LFG - Suggest you ctc Xenia directly, and she can advise you about Excel (I'm biased!). Or see the company website:

Mad-Air: You could be right, but was in the gossip column of the TTG last week!!

This weeks edition has a rumour :

"With or without the airline, the rumour mill is going into overdrive."

A bit ambiguous to say the least!!
