Are there any jobs out there for a Flight Engineer ? 6000 hrs B727 uk licence + FAA A&P. Many years corporate flying experience and Director of maintenance for private aircraft.
Or should I take up basket weaving ?!!

Hi gentlemen,
do you know what is needed to issue a Flight Enginerer License for an FAA/JAR Cpl, Multi-Ir holder? Any info would be highly appreciated. (The Rating would be on the A300B4 aircraft). thank you in advance.

Hy,

In order to get a FE licence based on your Frozen ATPL, you need either a JAR66 B1 or B2 maintenance licence, or a 5 weeks approved maintenance course.
Then you need a type rating.

All is explained in the Jar FLC4, on the jaa.nl website.

Good luck,

You have a FAA CPL, correct...?
If you do the F/E Turbojet, in the USA (FAA) -
The cost is approximately US$4,000
Takes about 4 weeks to complete (ground + simulator)
Generally the written "FEJ" (= F/E Turbojet) is based on the 727 systems.
Prerequisites: CPL and FAA 2nd Class Medical is all you need
See FAR 63 and FAR 121 which applies to F/Es.

All you would need thereafter would be a A-300 F/E course.

Dear BelArgUSA and oligoe,

i truly appreciate your reply(yes i do have the FAA Cpl) which can assist me in reducing the cost. Do you have any idea where i can do the rating in the USA and where a can add the A300B4 afterwards? I was thinking about Aeroservice Miami but they have no Airbus Simulators. Any info would be welcome. Thank you very much in advance.
